• NewsButton 1.0.1, updated 6 August 2026. The policy as published for the first two releases: no ads, no analytics, and nothing fetched that was not a publisher. Kept so a reader on an older build can still read the terms that applied to it.
• NewsButton 2.0.0, updated 26 August 2026. Added the two things 2.0.0 introduced: Google AdMob banner ads, and a Nepali calendar that fetches published rates from Nepal Rastra Bank and FENEGOSIDA. The 1.0.1 policy said the app contains no ads, which stopped being true from that version, so its advertising section was written fresh rather than edited in place.
• NewsButton 2.1.0 · current, updated 5 September 2026. Adds anonymous usage measurement: which screens are opened, and when the app is opened and closed, processed by PostHog, with the location lookup switched off and no record of what was read. The 2.0.0 policy said the app used no analytics SDK of any kind, which stops being true from this version, so what is collected is set out in a section of its own rather than edited into an existing one.

Each version stays available because users do not all update at once. If you are still on an older build, its policy is the one that applies to you.
